A Treatment for Puffy Eyes

One morning I awoke to big, puffy bags under my eyes. I couldn't figure it out. I had a good nights sleep. I hadn't changed my regular nighttime routine. What was the deal? It’s All About the Brush

I did a little research and learned that Mason Pearson uses only the finest quality natural boar bristles that are as strong as hair, so they don't scratch or cut the hair; and there are some soft, molded nylon bristles that are much gentler than the plastic bristles in typical brushes. Only the nylon bristles touch the scalp, since they are a little longer. All of the bristles are slender and mounted in a flexible rubber mat, which also adds to the softness of the brush. The bristles evenly distribute natural oils from the scalp, making hair shiny and stronger.

I also learned that Mason Pearson was the first to design the cushioned hairbrush / pneumatic pad. Basically, the cushion allows the bristles to reach all parts of the scalp and every hair without irritating the skin. This stimulates circulation to the hair follicles, exfoliates the scalp and removes debris in the hair, and, most importantly, distributes natural oils throughout.

After learning all of this. I decided I had to know if a Mason Pearson brush is worth the extra money. I bought the Mason Pearson Boar Bristle and Nylon Mixture Handy Size Hair Brush BN3 which is best for normal to thick hair of short to medium-long length. When I first saw it, I admit that it looked like all other hairbrushes. I used it a few times and it felt good and looked good too. After a day or two I noticed that my hair looked shinier. I also noticed that my Mason Pearson was able to glide more easily and smoothly through my hair. Now all I have to do is run the brush through my hair and it becomes soft and silky. I look at this brush not as just a brush, but as a hair treatment tool.

So, if you’re wondering if a Mason Pearson bush is worth it? My feeling is most definitely. They make a wide range of sizes and styles with various different bristle combinations that are specifically designed for different lengths, styles and textures. Also, the bristles take good care of my hair. Most Mason Pearson brushes come with a cleaning brush so, if you care for it properly, it will last you forever.
